Thelma V. Hoegger

Thelma V. Hoegger, age 87, of Carmi, died Thursday morning, August 26, 2004 at the Meadowood Nursing Home in Grayville, Ill.  She was born May 18, 1917 in Flora, the daughter of Clarence and Catherine (Spencer) Boyd.  She married Paul Hoegger in 1942 at Rolla, Mo. and he preceded her in death on December 19, 1988.
Mrs. Hoegger was a member of St. Polycarp Catholic Church  and the Ladies Guild in Carmi.  She had been employed at Arts Grocery in Carmi.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Paulette and Roy Jackson of Grayville and Mary and Steve Riggio of Du Quoin; three grandchildren, Keith Jackson, Matthew and Melanie Riggio and Michael Riggio.  She is also survived by her beloved pet dog Bo.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, James Boyd and Clarence Buddy Boyd and three sisters, Josephine Harbin, Jean Hemphill and Bonnie Ernest.
Visitation was at St. Polycarp Catholic Church in Carmi on Saturday morning, August 28,  beginning at 9 a.m.  The funeral mass at the church began at 11 a.m. with Father Stephen Rudolphi officiating.  Burial was at the St. Polycarp Cemetery.
Kittinger-Fair Funeral Home in Carmi was in charge of arrangements.
